Coushatte has 250 spaces and doesn't take reservations.  You show up and pull into whatever is available and suits you. These are full hookup spaces with 50 amps.  They do not have cabins on site.  Here are the nearest local hotels I found doing a quick internet search: Budget Inn, 111 E Main St, Bellville (6.2 miles), (979) 865-9121; Javionte House, 304 W Chatham St, Bellville (6.2 miles), (979) 525-9034; Super 8 Sealy, 267 Gebhardt Rd, Sealy (12 miles), (979) 885-2121; Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 2370 TX-36, Sealy(13 miles), (979) 877-0700  If anyone finds a good hotel to use let me know and I will share it with the group.

As Ollie Haus will not be available, we will have the much larger Stage Room for our meetings/Rally Room.  Couple of things to mention, the sites at Coushatte do not have tables, BBQs or firepits.  The stage room has a full kitchen, but if we want to do a bring your own meat BBQ we will have to figure out what we are going to cook it on.

There is a Bluegrass Festival on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before the Rally.   During the festival the nightly rate is $20 cash.   The Borgmans, Ray and Stephanie, our wagonmasters intend to arrive at the park on the Wednesday before our Rally and attend the Bluegrass Festival.  http://www.txbluegrassmusic.com/product/caushatte-rv-ranch-pickin-grinnin-festival

Stephanie  booked a tour of the Hemi Hideout, http://www.hemihideout.com/, in Brookshire for Th, 11/2, at 9:30 am.  We should leave Coushatte by 8:45 am.  Fee is $5 per person cash and no one under 12 years.  They match all the money from tours and donate it to local charities.

After the tour we will have lunch at Brookwood Café, also in Brookshire.  The café is part of a community for developmentally disabled adults, http://www.brookwoodcommunity.org/ .  We will pick two selections from a menu to be supplied about 6 weeks before our visit.  Besides the café there are also a greenhouse, art gallery, and other attractions.  More about lunch later.

Stephanie also hopes to plan a trip to a craft brewery on a farm outside of Bellville.  Those who would like to tour Newman’s Castle (newmancastle.com)  (featured in the new Texas Highways) as we had planned for last year's cancelled rally could do so on their own. The tickets which include lunch are sold at the owner's bakery in Bellville.  There are many antique shops, galleries, etc. in the area.  I believe there are tours of the historic courthouse on Friday or Saturday.  For those inclined there are several restaurants in Bellville including one called Trump's that has been there for years.  Besides the bakery the castle owner also owns a butcher shop.
