Hello Escapees Presidents and Editors –

We know Escapade was a short time ago in Gillette, WY – however Bob & Molly Pinner are already busy planning Escapade in Goshen, IN for May 2014.  The program book will go to print early in February.  We hope you will promote Escapade within your chapter/c-bof and in your newsletter.  Ask for Row Representative volunteers at your next rally/luncheon/newsletter.  The Row will be open just 3 hrs Sun-Mon-Tues-Wed = 12 hours.  Goshen is always a wonderful place for Escapade and Spring Time in Indiana is very enjoyable.

Please share Escapade information – check the Escapees website and magazine for more Escapade information. Send us your Row Representative Name/Email as soon as possible to be listed in the program book.  Deadline to be listed is February 1, 2014.  Of course we will welcome Row Volunteers after the deadline, they just will not be listed in the program book.  But registering early is always good!

Look forward to seeing you in Goshen, IN Escapade May 12-17, 2014 – SKP Hugs Susie & Denny Orr

Need help: September luncheon & fall rally

September 13 is our scheduled monthly luncheon for Chapter 10.  No place has been picked and we need a host/hostess.  Any warm body can do this!

Monday,October 21 through breakfast n Friday the 25th at Country Place RV Park in Cut-n-Shoot, TX.  Need someone to head this up.  I'll enclose the flyer for information.  I did check with the boat rentals on Lake Conroe.  Check out:  www.WaterpointMarina.com for their offers.  If we get a good amount of folks to attend the rally, we can probably afford their "Paradise" Party Barge which takes up to 35 people.  We can bring our own lunch and cook on their grills.  $225.00 per hour, 3 hour minimum.
That's all I know for now, folks,  Hoping to hear from the Finley's.  Bruce and Yvonne are out of town and I'm in KY this week.  Hope to be home in October.
I'll attach the flyer from Country Park Place later.  It doesn't want to upload and I've got to move, they rented this space for today. (Wouldn't you know it?.....It's 11 A.M. and folks just pulled in
Hugs,
Patty

Loss of Sandra Machen and August 10th meeting

I'm sure you all know by now that we lost Sandra a week or so ago.  She was quite a trooper in spite of being so sick.  She did our local quilt guild's newsletter right up through the June issue for us. Look on the Livingston Piecemakers Quilt Guild FB page and see a great picture of Sandra selling raffle tickets last Dec. in town Christmas event.  I'm told her casket had her favorite quilt on it instead of flowers.  So appropriate.
I'm in Heiskell, TN at the SKP park this week getting over a stomach bug.  I leave tomorrow for Butler, PA.
Bruce Horton had back surgery in Houston this week so we all wish him a speedy recovery.
I've had problems with google e-mail for about a month now.  Finally got that resolved this morning so I can write to y'all.
Anyone able, the meeting will be at Hughes Catfish Inn on Rte 59, Goodrich, TX. 1 P.M. on Aug 10th.
SKP hugs, Patty

Summer Tidbits for Chapter 10

Hi fellow SKP's,
Here's where we'll be meeting for the summer for our monthly meetings.  I spoke to Sandra and Ken today (Sandra's in the hospital, MDA I believe, in order to be treated by a lung specialist so see if they can help her breathing)
We all decided to have lunches as follows:
June 14 at Catfish King,
July 12 at Jalisco's Texas Pepper
August 9 at Hughes Catfish King.
Our Fall 2013 Rally is being planned at Country Place RV Park in CutNShoot, TX from October 21 - 25th.  This is right after Octoberfest at Rainbow's End.  Octoberfest is October 13 to 16th.  We'll be busy.
Please help if you are asked to volunteer for our fall rally.  The Finley's are away for the summer and Sandra & Ken are dealing with health issues so we need to step forward and help with all of these functions.
Many thanks,
Patty Rogers,
Blog person
.....and I updated the 800 Club Voicemail for Chapter 10 today, thanks to Susie Orr giving me great step by step directions on how to do that.  I don't see any blisters on me anywhere!!!!

May luncheon for Chapter 10

Hi all of you SKP's, it's almost time to gather and eat again!!!  May 10th at  Joe's Italian Grille, across the road from Walmart in Livingston, TX.  Most of you probably know he's bought the space where Shuky Deez Ice Cream Parlor was so there's plenty of room for us there.  See you at 1 o'clock and there should be some news about the fall rally.  Ed has found us a place, we'll be returning to Cut N Shoot so we can make plans for fall.
That's all I know folks, see you on the 10th.

Chapter 10 Spring Rally

It will be in Rayne, LA from April 8 to 12.  Chapter 10 meets Friday the 8th at Catfish King at 1 o'clock so I'll have more information for ya'all and will post that afternoon.
Ken & Sandra Machen were our wagonmasters, but Sandra is having a difficult time battling her cancer and Ken has recently had more cancers removed from his face.  They can certainly use our thoughts and prayers.
Bob & Joyce Finley and Roma Krejci were in Rayne yesterday finalizing plans so stay tuned for more.

February Chapter 10 luncheon

Chapter 10 will meet at 1:00 P.M. February 8th at Texas Pepper for luncheon meeting.
Hope we have a good turn out.
Bob Finley

Bob should have some news on our Spring rally to be held in LA.  Ken & Sandra Machen have been working on the rally as well as contending with medical problems.  Please pray for Sandra's cancer to be controlled with the IV chemotherapy they are using this week at MD Anderson.

My battle with the infected tooth/jaw has finally been won.  The tooth had to be pulled, therefore had to remove a 1 tooth bridge beside it.  Have to be careful how 'big I smile' or you'll all see my gums back there!  It's so good to feel good again.  Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes.
SKP hugs,
Patty,
