Chapter 10 Lunch - Yesterday - 2/14/2020

Chapter 10 Lunch - Yesterday - 2/14/2020
Wow!
The February lunch was yesterday 14 Feb 2020 at La Casita

We had 55 people attending.   The most that I remember ever attending a Chapter 10 lunch. About twice the number we had told the restaurant to expect. Thanks to the restaurant for accommodating us and for the attendees that helped rearrange and set up new tables and chairs.
Discussions:
  • Allison Bruning (new Chapter 10 member as of January 2020) lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and gave the blessing on the food
  • We celebrated January and February birthdays.   No anniversaries to celebrate.
  • We briefly discussed our January Hot Dog Roast and auction.   We raised $1,118 in the auction and donated $1,000 to CARE. We signed up 21 new members.  My personal thanks again to all involved.
  • We took a group photo.
  • We mentioned that Carol Mumma had returned to the Bradford and welcomes visitors.
  • We signed a group Get Well card for our Secretary, Solita Collard.
  • We discussed the Political Forum which is next Saturday from 1-5 p.m. in the Activity Center at Rainbow's End.
  • We discussed voting in the March 3rd primary election, including early voting from 18-21 and 24-28 February from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day listed above except Thursdays 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The main early voting location for Livingston residents: Polk County Judicial Center,  101 W Mill St, Livingston, TX 77351.
  • We briefly discussed the annual CARE Health Fair, Sunday, 22 March to Friday, 27 March 2020.  Discussed the 'Alaska basket' (over $500 purchased price of contents) to be raffled for $5 per ticket or three tickets for $10. The loaded basket was donated, all money collected goes to CARE. Discussed the kickoff on Sunday with Soupfest (including Alaska basket raffle). During the week,  low cost blood tests and 'Stroke Scan' ultrasonic testing, and lectures/discussions by a variety of doctors and experts.
