Our lunches are normally on the second Friday of the month.   The February lunch will be on Friday February 14, 2019 at 1 p.m. at:

Visitors and guests are encouraged to attend. You'll be made to feel welcome.

Spring Rally

Our spring rally is scheduled for Thursday May 14th through Monday the 18th 2020 in Sulphur, Louisiana. We have 16 sites blocked off for us at the A+ Motel & RV Park.  Normally motel rates are higher for weekends, but they have agreed to give us the weekday rate for all days. Dave Metzger and Gene Jensen visited the RV Park and area on Monday 27 January and will have details at our February lunch of our rally plans.

The Chapter directors have asked for a group photo from all of the Chapters. We plan to take a group photo of all present at the lunch. 

Chapter dues,  $5 per year.

Chapter 10 Check Presentation - Friday

This Friday,  24 January 2020 at 9 a.m. Chapter 10 will make a presentation of a check for $1,000 to CARE as a way of kicking off the CARE annual Health Fair (2020 HEALTH FAIR starts with soupfest on Sunday 3/22 to Friday 3/27). The presentation will be in the CARE dining room following the Big Breakfast.

Everyone that was involved in our Hot Dog Roast and Auction fundraiser,  which provided funds for this donation is encouraged and welcome to attend. 

Note: The Big Breakfast is every Friday from 7:30-9:00 a.m. at CARE.  The Big Breakfast is biscuit and gravy, eggs cooked to order, bacon or sausage,  grits, hash browns, juice and coffee. The cost is a $6 donation. 

Our next Chapter 10 Lunch is Valentine's Day, 14 Feb 2020 at 1 p.m. at La Casita.

Chapter 10 Hot Dog Roast and Auction 

We had a very successful lunch and auction yesterday (1/10/2020).The auction raised $1,118. We prepared 96 hotdogs and we served them all. My thanks to all involved including but not limited to those that help set up the activity center, those involved in buying and preparing the food as well as serving the food and clean up afterwards.  My thanks to the park for providing the grill that we used. Thanks also to those 'selling' and collecting the meal tickets. For the auction, thanks to those who donated and those who bought as well as our auctioneer, and others involved in running the auction.

Chapter 10 Hot Dog Roast, Auction and Membership Drive

Note: we had some flyers up with the wrong times for a while on Wednesday.  Correct times: Lunch at noon and Auction at 1 p.m.

January 10th, 2020, this Friday, Chapter 10 will have their annual Hot Dog Roast, Auction and Membership Drive at the Activity Center (AC) starting at noon. This will replace our normal monthly lunch. The hot dogs will be grilled and will be accompanied by other items to make it a meal. The cost is free to Chapter 10 members and $5 a plate for non-members. To join Chapter 10 the annual dues are $5 per person or couple. You can join on the day of the Roast,  January 10th, this Friday if you want.

The auction will be of donated items. If you have things around the house/rig that you want to part with please consider donating them to the Auction. included in the auction this year will be at least one Mel Trenary creation. Mel was a long-term Rainbow’s End resident and Chapter 10 member. He crafted what I would call creations to put in our annual auction. They had an Escapees theme.  The Mel Trenary creation donated for the auction this year includes a clock. The Whites also plan to donate some art work created by Mel described as a painting on an18 inch piece of slate I believe. Donated items can be dropped off at the activity center anytime after 10 a.m. on January 10th 2020. Or contact me or one of the other officers to donate items in advance. The auction will start at 1 p.m. 

I used to attend the Chapter 10 Auctions with the idea of getting a good deal,  and I did get some great deals. Now I take the same attitude that I do when I bid in the Fire Department and CARE Bake Auctions, "It is for a good cause" and I go with a predetermined amount I plan to 'donate' and don't worry too much about what I walk away with.   Whether you take the attitude, 'looking for a good deal' or "it is for a good cause', come and bid.
