Soupfest on Sunday March 23, 2014 ti start if this year's Health Fair, all to benefit CARE.

There's a list at CARE and one in the Activity Center for us to sign up if we can bring a pot of soup to be sampled/sold at the Soupfest.  We haven't done this for a few years.  We do it this year in honor of Barbara Blair our Red Hat Queen who passed away a few years ago.  Barb got this started as an annual benefit for CARE.
Soup will be served from 4 until 6 on Sunday, the 23rd.  $5.00 gets you 5 tickets and a spoon.  Keep your spoon and turn in a ticket for each kind of soup you'd like to taste. There will be French bread and butter for sale for $1.00 a slice.
Hopefully we'll have musicians for our entertainment.
Come on out and support CARE.
SKP hugs,
Patty Rogers & Shirley Bell

Christmas Caroling at Rainbow's End - 2013

I know it's almost Valentine's Day but I'm finally getting around to trying to download some pictures Laverne and Jerry sent me for the blog awhile back.  Couldn't down load the first batch. Dec 19th we took the trolley through out the park and sang to shut ins.  I lasted about an hour due to tiredness from eyelid surgery the day before.  It was fun while it lasted!!  Hugs, Patty

Goshen is just a perfect place for Escapade.  Bob & Molly Pinner are planning interesting classes, terrific entertainment and many extras.  (See the Escapees Magazine and website for more details.)  We hope you have registered for Escapade.  If not – it is easy to do --- Call Escapees 888-757-2582 – ask for KIM.

Escapade in Goshen, IN May 12-17, 2014 is a great destination or a stop along your travels.  Whether you have been there once, twice, or more the Goshen area has so much to offer and is always enjoyable.  So plan to spend some extra time before or after Escapade to explore the area.  Goshen has  beautiful fairgrounds in the heart of Amish country.  Shipshewana Flea Market is just a short drive away. Goshen is also surrounded by many RV manufacturing companies, RV surplus shops and RV specialty shops.  There is just so much to enjoy!

The Indiana Chapter Hoosier Neighbor #51 invite you to join them for the Tri Rally (that’s IN-MI-OH rally) immediately following Escapade right at the fairgrounds – May 17-20.  Contact Polly Miller -  pollyandpat@gmail.com to let her know you’re staying for the Tri Rally.  Of course all SKPs are welcome….. You’re sure to enjoy the rally and share good times with friends.

The Disaster Operations Volunteer Escapees/DOVE will also have Red Cross training classes May 17-21 after Escapade. Contact Anita Laffey, President@dovebof.org  for information and to register early.

Looking forward to seeing you at Escapade in Goshen, IN --- SKP Hugs  Susie & Denny Orr

Letter from Wayne..............re: Spring Rally 2014

Chapter 10 Spring Rally
(A Special Invitation from your President)

I just want to extend a special invitation to all Chapter 10 members to make plans now to attend our Spring rally at Advanced RV Resort in Pearland, Tx.  It’s easy to get to and is a fantastic facility.

Our wagon masters, Ray and Stephanie Borgman, have found a place close to many great places to visit.  The Holocaust museum, Buffalo Soldier museum, Genie library, Herman Park and zoo, and even a Bass Pro Shop are just minutes away.

Each RV site has full hook-ups; there is a swimming pool, hot tub, individual showers, and we have a meeting room with a complete kitchen.

This park accepts all breeds of dogs with a maximum of three per unit.  Of course, pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after.

Of course the big question is “what’s it gonna cost me,” and so here’s the answer.  Pull-thrus will be $45.00 and back-ins will be $40.50.  OK! So it’s a little pricey.  We don’t go to places this nice very often.  Probably never been to park that’s this nice.  Won’t hurt you to go to one once in your RV life.  I personally don’t spend this much a night, but this is a neat place and has a lot to offer.

You will need to make your own reservations with the park.  Just tell them you’re with the Escapees group rally that will be there April 7 -10.  If you plan to attend you must confirm your reservation by March 6, 2014.  You’ll have to pay for one night at that time to hold your spot.  If you are unable to attend after making a reservation they will give you a full refund if you cancel at least eight days in advance.

This park stays 95% full at all times due to its location near the above mentioned visitor areas plus the medical center.

Beth and I visited this park and Stephanie and Ray have stayed there for a rally.  It’s a very nice place run by very nice people.

Here’s the info you need to make your reservation.  Why not make it now while it’s on your mind!

January 2014

January 10 is the 2nd Friday of the month.  Chapter 10 will meet at Catfish King on the 59 feeder road north in Livingston at 1 o'clock.
If any of you have pictures you'd like to see on the blog, please send them to me at:  mainenannypat@juno.com or bring me the print and I'll scan it and put it on the blog.  We have a few  from the last rally in October on the blog.
Ed & Roma Krejci, long time Chapter 10 members are moving to NC this month to be closer to their daughter.  Hopefully they can make this meeting.  Their furniture has already gone.  We will surely miss them both.  Thanks Ed & Roma for all your years working with us at Rainbow's End and Ed is usually the 'parker' for us at rallies and serves on the nominating committee when it's time for new officers.
See you all on Friday
Patty
